Awards presented for the 62nd time at the Dragačevo Trumpet Festival also known as Dragačevo Assembly in Guča, with the sounds of traditional Serbian music by talented orchestras and individuals.
Trumpet orchestras from all over Serbia gathered in Guča again this year. This festival represents one of the most prestigious competitions in Serbia that nurtures and celebrates authentic trumpet music and is a symbol of the Serbian trumpet tradition.
Participation in this festival is a challenge for every trumpet orchestra and the realization of professional dreams.
Every year, a jury of top music experts chooses the best “First Trumpet” and “Golden Trumpet”.
Recognizing the importance of preserving tradition and cultural heritage, the Karić Brothers Foundation decided to erect a monumental sculpture of “Trumpeter” in the Guča city center, back in 1998, thus leaving a lasting mark of everything that the Trumpet Assembly really does.
With their decade-long presence, the members of the Karić family continue to support this event and at the final competition they award the “Trumpeter” statuette to the best trumpet player as judged by an expert jury.
This year’s winner, Bojan Ristić from Vladičina Han, who, as he says, has been waiting for this recognition all his life, received the statuette from MP Dragomir J. Karić, who presented the award on behalf of the Karić Brothers Foundation. Apart from him, Stefan Mladenović’s orchestra from Vranje also shone as the best orchestra this year, the orchestra “Timočki veseljaci” won the award for the most original musicianship, and the best played Serbian folk dance kolo was performed by Ilić brothers from Požega. Milenko Filipović from Užice was voted by audience the most popular trumpeter and won this year’s Golden Trumpet. The best performed song was played by Kristijan Azirović’s orchestra.
The traditional support of the Karić family and the Karić Brothers Foundation aims to preserve and present this assembly of good energy, quality music, best compositions and top talents to the general public.
This year, again, the Trumpet Festival gathered a large number of visitors in Guča, who enjoyed authentic music, traditional customs and gastronomic specialties.
Until next year and new winners, cheers!
