For over four decades, the Karić Brothers Foundation has been working on the promotion of human rights and freedoms, giving as well as pointing out examples of the possibility that openness, good intentions and respect for the very principles of the rights and freedoms of all people, can ensure the general progress of every society.
Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December, the day on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration calls on all nations to recognize the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family as the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.
That is why this day is a real opportunity for a new reminder of the importance of human rights, which must be realized through public policies and legislations adopted in collaboration with all key actors in the interest of citizens. It is important to raise the level of awareness that we are all connected, and that a society is only as strong as its most vulnerable members, and that solidarity is key, especially in times of crisis.
