Karić family celebrated St. John the Baptist the patron saint of the family
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej has cut the ceremonial cake the day before the Karić family patron saint day.
Following the tradition Karić family has began celebrating on the Epiphany day January 19 th2017 with the oldest family member attending, mother Danica Karic now living as a nun Angelina.
The celebration party hosts were brothers Sreten, Dragomir, Zoran, Bogoljub Karić and sister Olivera Karić-Nedeljković.
Representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and other religious communities, members of the diplomatic corps and many other guests have attanded the ceremonial act. His Holiness Patriarch Irinej performed traditional prayers and „broke“ the festive cake with the family. He expressed great satisfaction to see Karić family all together again after so many years.
“If only there were more families like yours in Serbia today. This is a respectable family that has brought Serbia plenty of good. ” said Mr. Irinej the Patriarch of Serbian Orthodox Church followed by the Song of Praise performed by the church choir.
One of the festivity hosts Dragomir Karić thanked all those who have come and made the special day even more festive than it already is.
“You’ve supported us and gave us hope during the most difficult times. We have many reasons to celebrate today, my mother’s 97th birthday to start with and this way I want to wish her all the best and happy birthday.” said Dragomir Karić and then they all sang together traditional “For many summers to come”.
The importance of this years celebration of the family patron saint day also confirmed Bogoljub Karić who has come home after 11 years of living in exile.
“After 11 years of my exile we’re all together again. I was done a great injustice but being away from my family at times like this was the most difficult for me. The most important thing is that we’re all here together to celebrate this day appropriately.” said Mr. Karić.
Among the distinguished guests was Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Chepurin, Ambassador of Belarus in Serbia Vladimir Chushev, President of the General Assembly ICS Muhamed Jusufspahić, as well as ambassadors of Greece, Tunisia, Venezuela, Palestine and Syria.
The Karić family has celebrated the patron saint St. John the Baptist on January, 20th with many guests, friends and BK Company employees. Dragomir Karić was welcoming guest when he was joined by his brother Bogoljub who was greeted with roaring applause.
Enjoying pleasant atmosphere and carefully prepared fasting holiday table in the delightful and splendid ambience of the villa “Jelena” guests could not hide the pleasure and happiness to see one of the biggest, most harmonious and united Serbian families together after 11 years.
Besides good health and happiness guests wished their hosts never to be separated ever again on this day.
Happy patron saint day, prosperity, always to be united and never apart again were the wishes from Vladimir Bozović, Bora Dugić, Dragica Radosavljević Cakana, Vesna De Vinča, Mirka Vasiljevic, Snezana Dakić, Merima Njegomir, Sanja Marinković, Ognjen Amidžić as well as many other guests like Dušan Savić, his wife Marina Rajević Savić and Brent Sadler Chairman of the N1 TV Editorial Board and the winner of the “Karic Brothers Award 2016“.
