Maglič is a medieval castle in the Ibar gorge, 20 km south of Kraljevo. It is located on top of a hill,
around which Ibar makes a sharp bend that surrounds the foot of the hill on three sides. Flattened plateau on com
the fort was built, it rises some hundreds of meters from the bottom of the gorge and the only caravan
road that connected the Moravian Valley and the Kosovo field. In mid-2006, the fortress was temporarily
was closed to visitors due to rotting wooden platforms in the towers that could give way
under human weight, and the fortress itself is illuminated at night, which attracts the extra attention of passers-by
main road.
At the beginning of autumn 2010, it was announced that Italy, in cooperation with the city of Kraljevo, would finance
restoration of Maglič. This was realized in August 2013, the Ecomuseum was opened. [1]
Maglič fortress has resisted for centuries, but not the bridge that leads to the fortress. The bridge on the Ibar existed in
such as cables, metal poles and railway tracks and has been used for over 15 years. 2020 when Ibar
grew, he carried it away and cut off the fortress from the highway. Now the only crossing is to the fortress
